No More Hoof

As Hoof finished two new songs in the studio Jonas Kåveby grew more and more aware that he didn't enjoy this as much as he used to. His urge to always have the final say in issues made him realise perhaps he wanted to be more in control. Jonas Kåveby made the decision to quit Hoof. The remaining hooflets have no plans to continue the band, which makes this the terminal stomp of the big Hoof.

The official time of death is the fourteenth of December 2005. But, the rigor mortis hasn't kicked in yet! The two final songs, just out from the final mixing, is available for download below. We all hope you will enjoy the latino grooves of Dream About It, and the jazz waltz chorus of Sweet Love.

We want to thank the people who took an interest in the music and came to our shows. Lisa and Henrik, who both were a part of the early lineup, also get a special mention. Finally, a very big thank you goes to our hero engineer Jerker Eklund who has done a tremendous job of making us sound as good as possible on the latest recordings.

History

Hoof was founded in December 2001, when Björn Stålspets and Jonas Carlquist had parted from a previous band, and were in search of a new constellation. They called Jonas Kåveby and started to rehearse, together with Henrik Berggren (Rhythm Guitar). The first six months were a bit fumbling (no wonder with Jonas having to play cheesy bass lines on the keyboard to make up for the lack of a bass player), and during the summer 2002 Henrik left, and Lisa Lövgren (bass) joined.

Autumn 2002 the material for So Long was written, and it was later recorded during the christmas that year. Lisa left hoof during the spring of 2003 to pursue her Salsa band interests.

In the summer of 2003, Pompom Sönnfors joined, and made the band line-up to what it is today. Following hoof's tradition, the material for Been On A Show was written during autumn 2003, and recorded just after new years in 2004. Later that year, in the midsummers eve of 2004, at a private party in Svartåna, Värmland, hoof had it's premier gig.

In December 2005, Jonas Kåveby decided to quit the band. As Pompom, Jonas Carlquist and Björn saw no reason to continue, this meant the end of Hoof.
